O criador do império Microsoft, Bill Gates, retira-se esta sexta-feira da companhia que o converteu no homem mais rico do mundo num momento de incerteza para o gigante informático que vive tempos agitados, escreve a Lusa.

A saída de Gates, que quis virar a página e dedicar-se aos seus projectos filantrópicos, foi anunciada há já dois anos num comunicado da empresa e simbolizará o fim da época dourada da Microsoft 33 anos depois da sua fundação.

"Estou a deixar algo, é um trabalho divertido, mas se sempre que houvesse um competidor interessante pensasse em ficar, então teria que morrer no trabalho", comentou o magnata da informática numa recente entrevista à revista norte-americana Newsweek.
